Gross and Mõlder are leading auto24 Rally Estonia after Day 1
After the first day in the auto24 Rally Estonia Georg Gross and Raigo Mõlder (Ford Focus WRC) are leading the rally. Gap between them and Mads Ostberg-Jonas Andersson (Ford Fiesta RS WRC) is just 0,1 s. Markko Märtin and Kristo Kraag who had won first two stages lost some time in the third stage and are in the third place overall. Gap between Gross and Märtin is 4,7 s.
Georg Gross: „It was okay. It would been nice not to start tomorrow from the first place but no problem. In the first stage on the gravel we lost little bit time, but otherwise was the first day good for us. Let’s see what will happen tomorrow.“
Mads Ostberg: „Good day, Markko was really fast but he had good road position in the first stage. Second and third stage were on the asphalt there was no difference where do you start. Tomorrow will the fight go on. I promise to push more.“
Markko Märtin: „Yes, there were tactics. I’m not intrested to be first on the road on Saturday. Gap between me and Mads wasn’t big today so tomorrow there will be really fast race, nothing easy.“
In group N are leaders Martin Prokop and Michael Ernst (Ford Fiesta S2000). In A7 Martin Kangur and Simo Koskinen (Honda Civic Type-R).
auto24 Rally Estonia is also candidate rally for FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship and in this category are leaders Jari Latvala and Asko Sairanen (Ford Escort RS).
