Delfi Rally Estonia is back in the FIA World Rally Championship calendar for 2025

  • The 2025 calendar of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) series will include 14 rallies for the first time since 2008.
  • Three new rounds in the 2025 calendar will be held in the Canary Islands, Paraguay, and Saudi Arabia.
  • The world's best from the WRC series will compete in the Delfi Rally Estonia from July 17 to 20, 2025.
  • WRC Delfi Rally Estonia 2025 rally passes will go on sale starting Friday, August 2, at 10:00 AM.

Today, on July 31, 2024, the FIA, or the International Automobile Federation's Motor Sport Council, confirmed the 2025 FIA World Rally Championship calendar. The upcoming season's calendar includes an impressive 14 rallies, featuring both familiar host countries, returnees, and some entirely new countries where a WRC event has never been held before. For the first time, the WRC calendar will include stages in the Canary Islands, Paraguay, and Saudi Arabia. As a result, fewer events will be held in mainland Europe, and the 2025 calendar will not include the WRC rallies of Latvia, Poland, or Croatia, which will undoubtedly bring new audiences to the WRC Delfi Rally Estonia in mid-July.

WRC Promoter CEO Jona Siebel: "This is a hugely exciting calendar which perfectly blends our traditional rallies with three exciting new challenges, two of which are outside of Europe, highlighting once again the global appeal of our championship. From the ice in the French Alps, knee-deep snow in Sweden, blinding dust in Kenya and Sardinia, high-speed gravel rollercoasters in Finland and Estonia and finally deserts in Saudi Arabia – the variety we are offering in 2025 is unrivalled.”

Delfi Rally Estonia has the opportunity and privilege to once again be part of the official pre-season WRC calendar alongside major countries with long-standing traditions. Next year's stage will mark the fifth year of organizing a WRC rally for Delfi Rally Estonia, and the 2025 WRC Delfi Rally Estonia will take place in Tartu and on the roads of Tartu, Otepää, Elva, Kanepi, Kambja, Kastre, Peipsiääre, and Mustvee municipalities from July 17 to 20.

Next year, the eighth round of the WRC season will be held on the fast and winding gravel roads of Southern Estonia, with the WRC carousel stopping in Greece before Delfi Rally Estonia and heading across the bay to Finland after Estonia. The race taking place on the penultimate weekend of July means that rally fans from Estonia and beyond can once again enjoy the great Estonian summer and nature, as well as the adrenaline-filled WRC Delfi Rally Estonia.

The WRC Delfi Rally Estonia will once again be hosted by the Estonian National Museum in Tartu, where in addition to the competition center, there will also be a service park, EXPO area, a special stage, and much more. The start and finish podium and the grand opening ceremony will be located in their traditional spot in the center of Tartu, at Town Hall Square, and the competition route will once again cover the fast and technical gravel roads of the Peipsi Lake area. According to the organizers, the 2025 program will include both technical rally spectator areas for die-hard rally fans and comfortable spectator arenas to ensure everyone can create their ideal rally weekend program.

Delfi Rally Estonia Rally Director Urmo Aava: "The level of rallying in Estonia is currently very high, and we are very pleased that several young Estonians are closely following in the footsteps of Ott and Martin. This year has strongly shown the rise of the next generation, with excellent speed demonstrated by Georg Linnamäe, Robert Virves, Romet Jürgenson, Jaspar Vaher, Patrick Enok, and Joosep-Ralf Nõgene. If the young drivers continue to develop like this, the future of rallying is bright, and a different kind of national competition will emerge between Estonia's own heroes, which will also attract more young audiences.
This year's WRC stage in our neighboring country Latvia also proved that there is a very high level both in organization and on the stages, as their own national hero Mārtiņš Sesks showed very good performance in front of the home crowd and proved that if young drivers are given the opportunity, the result is very fast and explosive development. A local hero and high-level organization will certainly give a significant boost to the popularity of rallying in the Latvian market, and this means that the spectator market could double in the future, and I believe we will see this already next year at the WRC Delfi Rally Estonia.
Next year's WRC calendar is tight, with a total of 14 rallies ahead. While Delfi Rally Estonia was between three major WRC stages this year, we are pleased that in 2025 everything is back to normal, and we are conveniently placed in mid-July, being the only fast gravel rally before the Finnish WRC event. Also in our favor is the fact that there will not be many alternatives in our region next year. I can confidently say that, considering the experience and dedication of our organizing team, we will definitely organize the best WRC Rally Estonia ever, with Delfi as the title sponsor. Ticket sales start this Friday, and 3000 pcs of special-priced rally passes will be available for 49€, nearly half the usual price. All fans and supporters can already make their plans for next summer's top event to be by the stages with friends and family and strongly support our Estonian heroes. See you at the WRC Delfi Rally Estonia 2025!"
