Every rally fan has a chance to make a difference to the environment

The KWOTA token is a cooperation between KWOTA and Rally Estonia to help give back to society for the total carbon footprint exerted during the entirety of the rally event.

KWOTA is a platform that connects material producers such as Räpina Paperivabrik, DagöPlast, Estiko-Plastar to events like Rally Estonia to help them raise funds to increase recovery of recyclable materials in landfills to use as new goods which helps keep our environment clean and reduce CO2 emissions. They are eager to reuse more recyclable materials over virgin materials for production but need the financial support to achieve beyond their current capacities. Reducing the use of virgin materials in production reduces CO2 emissions. In fact,  the reuse of 1 tonne of plastic can reduce approximately 1 tonne of carbon.

Every rally fan has the opportunity to contribute to offset the CARBON FOOTPRINT of Delfi Rally Estonia 2024 by contributing to increasing the recycling of materials. When purchasing a rally pass from the Rally Estonia e-store, you can also immediately purchase a KWOTA Token to fulfill this goal! Read more at app.kwota.com/rallyestonia.

Rally Estonia in cooperation with KWOTA has calculated that the total emission caused by spectators is approximately 300 tons of CO2. Each rally spectator's contribution helps recycle 29 kg of recyclable materials, which reduces 29.17 kg of carbon emissions.

The goal of Rally Estonia is to offset at least 600 tons of carbon emissions. This is the figure that was calculated using the CO2 emissions of the previous year's event as a benchmark.

In 2023, Rally Estonia and KWOTA started offsetting the event's carbon footprint, the funding from which will enable partners such as Räpina Paperivabrik, DagöPlast, etc. to increase the recycling of materials to produce new goods from materials otherwise thrown into waste. KWOTA ensures the integrity of the process by controlling each step of the value chain and proving the quantities of recycled materials, recycling has a high impact on carbon dioxide emissions.

Watch the video below to learn more about how Rally Estonia director Urmo Aava and the founder of KWOTA, Rain Vääna, introduce the cooperation in more detail.
